"The Survivalist may be the best post-apocalyptic series out there," raves Steve Erwood of the Disaster Preparedness Blog. "In addition to a steady stream of gunfights with zombie-like mutants, roadway bandits, and opportunistic warlords, the books teach dozens of useful survival tricks. Learn to hotwire cars, construct homemade booby traps, build garbage-powered generators, and retrieve fuel from abandoned gas pumps."
Bryan Foster, author of The Prepper's Handbook, says "It's rare to find books this entertaining that are so well researched." Nicholas Sansbury Smith, author of Extinction Horizon, adds "The Survivalist books are incredibly addictive. They create a cool western vibe not seen since Louis L'Amour's timeless classics."
Judgment Day is the third book in a series described as "a cross between Justified and The Walking Dead." The United States continues to devolve into total lawlessness as it struggles to recover from a pandemic that left billions dead. Gangs of convicts sweep through towns, raping and murdering with impunity. Opportunistic warlords build private armies with the hopes of expanding their influence. And infected survivors continue to mutate, growing stronger and more psychotic with each passing day.
Deputy Marshal Mason Raines tracks a band of mercenaries responsible for poisoning hundreds of his fellow lawmen. Terribly outnumbered, he must resort to drawing the attention of an adversary even more dangerous than the soldiers of fortune. As the nation's last living marshal, Mason must once again remind his enemy that no one is above the law.
Meanwhile, Tanner and Samantha travel to Salamanca, New York, to grant a dying man's last wish. Together, they must overcome all manner of evil, including satanic worshippers, murderous road warriors, and a tunnel-dwelling creature that is anything but human. Their only hope of surviving the perilous journey is to work together in ways they never thought possible.

Judgment Day The Survivalist Book 3 eBook Arthur Bradley
This is probably the very BEST dystopian story I've read. The author has several plots going on at thesame time, and keeps you busy between the scenarios. I like the characters and their easy banter
with each other. Just enough description to not distract from the story and it keeps moving. I really
want to read all 7, I think it is. However, as a kindle reader, at $5.99 each and about 200 or so pages,
it would cost me around $40.00+, so I've decided to stop reading it, although I really enjoyed this
page turner!!

Judgment Day The Survivalist Book 3 eBook Arthur Bradley Reviews
The author does a great job of quickly grabbing your attention and putting you smack in the middle of the story. The book focuses in on two groups in the country as they try to survive a flu pandemic. The author does a great job with the narration vs. a lot of what you see with some books where there is conversation just to have conversation, and takes the time to explain in layman’s terms what is going on as well as some of the disaster preparedness.
I think what struck me most of all about this book is it is something tangible most people can wrap their heads around - a worldwide pandemic and the sense of fear, panic, and the ensuing struggle as people try to survive. There aren't a lot of whistles and bells to this novel, but the author really makes you feel like you are there in the middle of the action. I had a hard time putting this one down, and I continue to think about it well after finishing it.
I picked this one up for just 99 cents for the version and received a lot more than that for entertainment value. I’ve gone and purchased the next book of the series, and will see where the author’s imagination takes us next.
Hello All,
Like many of you may have, I've read many "survivalist" books, novels, etc. The Survivalist series is wonderful. Why? As the words above describe, the series IS full of surprises, IS hopeful, is sometimes fast-paced and sometimes steady and steady is fine also. The characters are a mix between developed and complex. I've read all of them through book 7 and am in the middle of reading book 8 right now (Nov '16).
Fascinating story-lines, a strange (but INTERESTING) combo of Tanner and Samantha, interesting plot-twists and the books have kept me riveted throughout from the beginning. Dr. Bradley is probably gonna hate me because I want him to keep going!
Book 8 sort of starts a new story with the same characters from the story-line of books 1-7, which I like. I'm the kind of person who wants the same actor/actress to continue in the role in the sequels and when they don't, it's a little bothersome. It takes me a little while to get used to the new actor. Here it feels like the same actors are reprising their roles.
The story-lines are vivid in their descriptions of things and for me, I have clear and vivid images of what I think it would look like in reality. I like that. You get the clear impression that the author put the requisite time in to flesh everything out.
I can VERY EASILY see these turned into scripts for movies and would ABSOLUTELY love to see them as such.
I thoroughly enjoyed them all. I've recommended them to friends. My Dad has read them all already (sorry about that one Dr. Bradley, I'll buy you lunch...). DEFINITELY get the books, enjoy them. I'll continue to do so and will be reading them all over again!!!
If I finish one a book, it is worth three stars and I did finish this one. However, I didn't form enough of an attachment to purchase more in the series. The protagonist doesn't feel much when he kills people who deserve it and I just didn't feel much from the book. The characters are mostly stereotypes, there is fairly good action, and I liked the fact that, although there was sex, it would be rated PG.
If you like John Wayne, but with less emotion and more facts, physical conflict with clear black and white characters, then this novel and series might be for you. This is definitely a modernized wild west good guy novel.
2.6 Stars. The author is a hardcore prepper who knows what he is talking about when it comes to weapons, so it's not too surprising that this book contains a few good pointers on how to survive after the fall of civilization. Unfortunately, the story itself is clunky and mechanical, and the characters quite flat. There are things the author does really well, such as writing firefights. He is great with violence. However, for me, the novel lacks tension despite all the well-written action.
The main character is a seasoned military veteran and law enforcement officer who teaches pistol combat to other law enforcement officers for a living. He is perpetually calm under fire (after taking a few breaths). He is supremely confident in his abilities as a quick draw artist. He faces down the bad guys with a steely eye and never flinches. In this respect he is a bit like Superman. You get the idea early on that there is no chance this guy can lose against his vicious but less well-trained and often somewhat hapless opponents. That's where the tension drains out of the story.
If you are looking for a fantasy about being the toughest hombre alive, so tough that no-one can really hurt you, and so confident that you will never feel insecure in front of an absolutely gorgeous member of the opposite sex, then this book might hold promise for you. Despite the trappings of being a good guy, I could not shake the sense that if I met this man I would admire him for a few minutes before realizing he was a superficially charming, shallow narcissist with a wide streak of sociopathy and end up disliking him intensely. Of the two main plotlines I liked the cross country road-trip undertaken by the main character's father better. The father is a flawed, rough-edged man who is much more interesting than the main character. Because he is not the over-idealized main character a reader can see there is a chance the author might kill him off, which breathes some tension into that storyline at least.
Bottom line this was a mediocre post-apocalyptic novel. If you want a vehicle for learning a few things about surviving the s**t hitting the fan, without reading a book actually about prepping, this might be worth your while. Not good.
This is probably the very BEST dystopian story I've read. The author has several plots going on at the
same time, and keeps you busy between the scenarios. I like the characters and their easy banter
with each other. Just enough description to not distract from the story and it keeps moving. I really
