Hellhounds Freaky Jules eBook Tom Upton S J Manning Reviews
Excellent supernatural story. Who doesn't like a book with dogs? I look forward to reading more of this authors books.
Freaky Jules is a very interesting young women who seems to have a knack of being around some very strange things. Yet she is the only one who can defeat the hellhounds, with an assist from her friend. Very interesting story and the whole series is worth reading.
As usual, the Freaky Jules book comes through with another winner. This is a great series and I always look forward to the next one.
Jules Dundee is your typical 17 year old. She's apathetic, her teachers and her parents don't understand her, she's socially awkward, and she spends most of her days doing "nothing". Of course, she can read minds, which makes her, in her own words, "a freak", she has some telekinetic abilities, and oh, yeah, she can see spirits! Which is how this, the third installment in the Freaky Jules series, starts out. Jerry, the ghost that inhabits her house needs a favor. A K-9 cop in life before his untimely death, Jerry learns that his K-9 partner, Sarge, is near death. And Sarge, a hero dog in life, is going to need some protecting as a new spirit as the forces of evil will be out to destroy him. Jules reluctantly agrees to help Jerry out, even after she finds out she needs to protect Sarge from a pack of Hellhounds, one of the few things that has managed to scare her in the past! This is a pretty quick read, as it's only Novella length, but it's well worth checking out. The young adult group will be able to identify with Jules fairly easily, including trying to balance out her paranormal activities with therapy, while not giving away to her parents just how much trouble she's gotten herself into. The story line is easy to follow and is quick paced. I'm actually interested in continuing on in this series, as this tale leads into "The Crying Witch".
What a great imagination this author has. Poor Jules gets caught up in another terror filled episode.
I just wish the author would edit out all the grammatical errors and misspellings. They are getting annoying.
I would have given this book five stars but the editing was terrible. A few sentences did not even make any sense. The story was fantastic and I can hardly wait for the next book. (Just hoping there is an editor out there who can make it perfection.) All that being said the story is unique and a real page turner. Like me you will over look the imperfections for a super read.
I really enjoyed this story. It is the third Freaky Jules story I've read. There are editing problems, but I've come to expect that from books like this. Its actually not as bad as some others that I've read. The story, though, is interesting. The characters are fun, the situations are entertaining, and I feel that they really portray teenagers well (aside from the paranormal aspect). I was pleasantly surprised with the story, and with the series in general. I ended up getting them for free on , but after reading them, I've become more interested in Tom Upton's work and can say that his works ARE worth paying for. I can't wait to see what happens next. The books are easy to read, hard to put down.
